How Does The A-10 Warthog Support Ground Troops?

Hard to believe as this may seem. the Republic Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II, known much better as the “Warthog,” is already a quinquagenarian, having celebrated its 50th “BRRRT-Day” (birthday) back on May 10, 2022. Alas, as the proverb/clich goes, “All good things must come to an end,” and the U.S. Air Force brass is planning to retire the Warthog, in spite of the best efforts by many members of Congress to block that retirement and forestall the inevitable.
