Stadler has completed the first out of 11 FLIRT InterCity EMUs for GYSEV, moving the project from assembly into testing ahead of planned passenger service from 2027.
A Siemens-led consortium will replace ageing signalling and interlocking systems across 560 kilometres of Romania’s rail network. The programme covers 66 stations, 122 level crossings and more than 2,000 signals.
