BA Bets On Premium Seats In Short-Haul Fare War Amid 3% IAG Capacity Cut

In recent years, British Airways has come under increasing pressure on short-haul routes between the UK and Europe from low-cost giants such as easyJet, Ryanair, and Wizz Air. This has even prompted the UK flag carrier and oneworld founding member to set up a new subsidiary airline at London Gatwick Airport (LGW), known as BA Euroflyer, in order to be able to compete head-on with such operators.
