Our fast rail link to Sydney is on a slow train to nowhere

I recently awoke at Central Station in Sydney after a soporifically-induced sleep on the train from Canberra.

It took a comfortable four-and-a-half hours, as did the return; not the four hours often suggested by our politicians.
