The former Nationals MP, who joined One Nation in December 2025, called for abolishing the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water, blaming it for high fuel and electricity costs without global climate impact.

His comments highlight One Nation’s growing clout, with polls showing 27% national support and a lead in the May 9 Farrer by-election triggered by Liberal Sussan Ley’s resignation.

As the party eyes kingmaker status ahead of 2028, Joyce’s demands have sparked pushback from Labor and mixed reactions within conservative circles.
