Renewable energy projects should use rubbish land instead of prime farmland in Australia

Jane Caro stated that renewable energy installations like solar panels and wind turbines should be placed on rubbish land rather than valuable agricultural land.

Critics, including farmers, argue that there is little rubbish land available, particularly in Victoria which produces 25% of Australia’s food and fibre from just 3% of farmland.

Solar panels on prime land threaten food production.
