Middle East war is ‘unpredictable’ as urgent travel warning issued to Australians

Australians are being urged to think carefully about their travel plans for the next five months — especially trips to Europe — as the rapidly escalating conflict in the Middle East begins to spread.

Foreign Minister Penny Wong warned the situation was evolving far more quickly than many governments anticipated, with Iran now having launched attacks across 11 countries, including a NATO member.

“Certainly the conflict is spreading, and that’s of deep concern,” Senator Wong told Sunrise on Thursday.

“Iran attacking a NATO member, which now means it has sought to strike 11 countries, is deeply concerning.”
