There have been continued delays in the NSW Supreme Court for a man accused of fatally bashing a passenger at a Newcastle train station, with a fitness hearing scheduled.
The completion of the AIR5440 program, dubbed “an important milestone in the delivery of a complex air mobility capability upgrade achieved through strong defence industry collaboration”, was marked with an event at RAAF Base Richmond this month.
The incident saw the aircraft, operated by Wave Air and with a pilot and seven passengers on board, attempt to land at Whitsunday Airport at the conclusion of a scenic flight last November.
The deal will see engineering firm KBR support the surveillance aircraft’s aeronautical and geospatial requirements alongside its mission planning.
