Traditionally, John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) in New York City has long been seen as the main transatlantic gateway not just for the East Coast of theUnited States, but, indeed, also the country as a whole. Now, however, it has been overtaken by its New Jersey neighbor, Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR), which will offer scheduled non-stop passenger flights to a grand total of 44 European hubs (vs 44 for JFK).
