London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is one of the world’s best-connected and largest mega hubs, with the airport ranking fourth in the busiest airports globally in 2023, according to OAG data. The airport finally broke into the top five after being the seventh-busiest global airport in 2022 and 2019. It ended the year with its busiest-ever December 2023, resulting in 79 million passengers during the year.
