Low-cost carriers Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines announced an agreement to merge, aiming to create a more competitive, leisure-focused US carrier. While the $1.5 billion stock and cash deal has been announced, the merger has yet to be approved by the US antitrust regulatory agencies.
