With the Harcourt fires now moving away from the toenship it can now be revealed some of the damaged caused by the fires.
In these photos burnt and collapsed railway sleepers and perhaps bridge decking from the Victoria Road Railway Bridge in the township.

The state of the bridge is not known and crews will be required to assess the damage and undertake repairs probably taking days as V/Line are not the fastest to get lines reopened. Some years ago the Bairnsdale Line was closed for months on end due to V/Line not having a rail grinder for rail maintence, incredible.
It has also been reported V/Line are running a test train between Bendigo and Echuca.
Source of Photographs unknown.
V/line are not interested in running trains it is all about saving money. It will be weeks to fix this.
IF they not serious in providing regional rail services time get a company who will do so
Vic Rail turn to V/line allow Buses instead of trains….as long as they run a service it all that matter it seem…..
As some people can’t ride buses long distance…..
What do you expect them to rebuild a fire damaged heavy rail bridge overnight? Common sense needed here!
I didnt say fix it Overnight….
It the fact the grass overgrown near by railway line and overhanging branches has led to this….
The distinct Engineer would of made sure all overgrowth were controlled in the cooler mths….
It not only Bendigo this problems is issue but every line has this issue.
It could of been prevented..
What the purpose of Vic Track if they won’t do this vital service keeping railway corridor clear of over growth and overhanging branches?
It was neglect of bush fire prevention practices in the cooler mths by council!
Let religional people clear their land in cooler mths!
