Bondi Beach Vigil Boos Albanese Amid Hanukkah Attack Grief

The December 14 attack at a Hanukkah celebration killed 15, including children, in Australia’s deadliest modern terror incident, inspired by Islamic State ideology with gunmen firing over 100 rounds.

At Sunday’s National Day of Reflection vigil, attended by 10,000 to 15,000, Albanese walked stone-faced through chants of ‘blood on your hands’ and ‘shame on you,’ while Premier Chris Minns drew applause; organisers did not invite him to speak due to frustration over federal responses to rising antisemitism.

Jewish leaders like David Ossip called it the nadir of antisemitism in the country, with a minute’s silence held at the exact attack time and tributes including Matilda’s parents dancing to ‘Waltzing Matilda.’

Cries of “shame on you”, “you’re not welcome” and “jihad supporter” as the Aussie PM turns up at the Bondi Beach massacre memorial.

Albanese later posted about standing together against hate, but the boos reflected demands for accountability after years of warnings about escalating threats.
