EU Fines X €120 Million for DSA Transparency Breaches

The €120 million fine targets three issues: X’s paid verification system that confuses users about authenticity, an ad repository missing sponsor and targeting details, and restricted researcher access to public data on risks like disinformation.

Elon Musk called the penalty ‘bullshit’ and urged Europeans to leave the EU, while X’s Nikita Bier terminated the Commission’s ad account over alleged deceptive tactics.

Figures like Poland’s Radosław Sikorski and EU lawmakers pushed back sharply, as X can appeal and has 60 to 90 days to comply amid broader tech tensions.

  1. Funny thing is the very essence of democracy is that they all voted to be in it and can choose to leave if they wish as the UK did.

    The US does not control the world despite the fact Trump thinks he does.
