Minister Anika Wells refuses to apologise over expensive trip to New York

How is this spending even remotely justifiable?

Australian Communications Minister Anika Wells for a September 2025 New York trip costing over $100,000 in taxpayer funds, including $94,818 for business-class flights for her and two staffers, plus $12,000 in accommodation.

Apparently, because it’s “disclosed,” that makes it fine?

A very smug and somewhat arrogant performance by Anika Wells

A look into airfares on QANTAS to New York from Australia show a return Business Class Airfare at approximately AUD$19,000 per person. Who went on the trip? Could there be any truth to an all female trip?

These politicians do whatever they want with zero consequences and zero accountability. Anika Wells has shown no remorse or embarassment over this incredibly expensive trip to New York.

Anika deserves to be held to account for exploitation of taxpayer funds! That’s an obscene amount of money to waste while many Australians are struggling through a cost of living crisis. This woman is tone deaf.

They clearly couldn’t care less about the cost-of-living crisis or reckless government spending.

  1. Anika Wells can only be described an entitled c-lister.

A power trip with eSafety Karen to a location that rejects anything to do with censorship. How could the taxpyer have gained anything from this expensive junket?

  2. The arrogance of this putrid fool is extraordinary!

Get rid of this spectacular loser Wells!

What a horrible thing to rip the social media carpet out from under the teenagers right when they are finishing up school for the year!

    This is PUTRID POLITICS!!!
