Usman Khawaja has lost the plot completely the past few months and I genuinely hope we’ve seen the last of him in Australian colours.
He doesn’t deserve a farewell. It will be a spit on everyone’s face if that happens.
Forget about form- that is a totally different issue in the past couple of years but his professionalism and conduct as a cricketer has been ‘unacceptable’. I sometimes wonder whether this man is riling up people intentionally just cause of his close links with the current Aussie PM and thinks he’s entitled to say and whatever he wants despite having a CA central contract and get away with it.
Before the 1st test playing three days of golf, getting injured during the important 1st Ashes test and then did the most stupid and unthinkable thing which is unforgivable.
Throwing the debutant and teammate high and dry by letting him face the new ball first up and not being there to open alongside him. Posting a golf course selfie on instagram post the win. Not taking any accountability for your actions.
Then did the worst and most pathetic act which sums up what a shameless individual he is. Calling the Perth pitch a piece of Shit despite the ICC match referee giving it a very good rating.
Sums up everything to say about Khawaja. A self entitled narcissist who proclaims himself as the ‘People’s Champ’.
It is Golf- Palestine-Politics-Cricket in that order for this man. Such a shame.
