The Victorian Liberal Party removed Opposition Leader Brad Battin in a 19-13 party room vote on Monday, replacing him with first-term MP Jess Wilson from Kew, who becomes the state’s first female Liberal leader.
This marks the third leadership change in under a year, driven by frustrations over stagnant polling and internal divisions despite recent polls showing Battin ahead.
Jess Wilson was one of the few Liberal MPs who publicly supported the ‘Voice to Parliament.’
Wilson, 35, pledges to address wasteful spending, crime, healthcare, and housing to challenge Labor before the 2026 election.
