V/Line scuttle Warrnambool regional students ability to use train service

The new VLocity train services have been criticised by local MP Roma Britnell, who called the situation “a step backwards” for regional students.

The Brauer College excursion, planned for 90 students, could not be accommodated on a single service, even after attempts made 100 days in advance. The school was advised to hire a coach at substantial extra cost, a solution deemed impossible.

The MP has demanded the government urgently review booking policies and expand capacity to ensure regional schools can access educational experiences in Melbourne.

The state government was contacted for comment and V/Line does not care.

V/line is fast becoming a state based embarrassment but the transport minister is no where to be found.
