With its distinctive white and green livery and shamrock logo, Irish flag carrier Aer Lingus is easily one of the most recognizable airlines that graces the skies and airports of Europe in the present day. While the carrier currently operates a large fleet of Airbus twinjets, its beginnings were rather humbler, with Ireland's national airline relying on the De Havilland DH.84 'Dragon' to get off the ground.
