Unfortunately, airlines have not had the smoothest time managing their A220 fleets due to the type’s exclusive engine, which comes from the pratt and whitney geared turbofan family of powerplants. EgyptAir has retired all of its A220s and 5 out of 5 A220s are grounded at Iraqi Airways. Now, French airline Air Austral has decided to give up on operating the type.
