Victoria Police pursued a stolen white BMW X3 into Melbourne’s pedestrian-heavy Bourke Street Mall on Monday afternoon, where four youths emerged from the vehicle armed with machetes and fled into the Myer department store.
Officers surrounded the area and arrested multiple suspects at the scene, with no injuries reported.
The incident occurred in the same location as the deadly 2017 vehicle attack that killed six people.
I see one of the 4 youths involved in yesterday’s Bourke st Mall incident has been released on bail. I guess he probably has a few more offences to commit before he gets to the magic 50.
The new bail laws in Victoria only became live yesterday.
