It has been a hundred years since a group of United States Army Air Service (the precursor to the United States Air Force) aviators set out to become the first in history to circumnavigate the earth through flight. On April 6, 1924, four Douglas World Cruiser (DWC) airplanes began what would be a record-setting journey around the globe.
