Trump Ends UK Visit with £150B Investments, Immigration Tensions

President Donald Trump’s second state visit to the United Kingdom, hosted by King Charles III and Prime Minister Keir Starmer from September 16 to 18, 2025, resulted in £150 billion in U.S. investments projected to create 7,600 jobs in technology, defense, and business sectors.

Ceremonial events at Windsor Castle and talks at Chequers addressed global issues like Ukraine and the Middle East, but tensions arose over energy policy, with Trump criticizing UK wind power, and immigration, where he pushed for stricter border controls.

The visit included Trump’s request to exclude London Mayor Sadiq Khan from the state banquet due to concerns over crime and leadership, alongside protests, discussions on free speech, and an emergency helicopter landing.
