Telefónica is reportedly accelerating its exit from non-core markets by preparing to sell its Mexico unit, just weeks after it was said to be exploring sales in Argentina and Colombia.

Telefónica has ousted CEO José María Álvarez-Pallete after nine years in the role, naming former Indra Group chairman Marc Murtra (pictured) as his successor.

The GSMA has elected MTN Group CEO Ralph Mupita as its deputy chair, following the appointment of Bharti Airtel vice chairman Gopal Vittal as chair.
