How Will The SMBC-led Acquisition Of Air Lease Corp. Impact The Industry?

This week, a group of investors led by SMBC Aviation Capital has announced that it will be taking Air Lease Corporation (NYSE: AL) private at a value of around $65 per share, for a total valuation of around $7.4 billion. The firm will thus be valued at around $38.2 billion in total, including the portion of its capital structure that is attributable to debt. This deal will create a massive Dublin-based aircraft lessor.
