Air Ceylon was the national carrier of Ceylon (modern-day Sri Lanka). Founded in 1947, it operated flights to several destinations in Asia, Europe, Africa, and Australia before ceasing operations in 1979. Air Ceylon was succeeded by Air Lanka, which later became SriLankan Airlines.
