Throwback: What Was Early Commercial Flying Like Before The Second World War?

Early flying was as glamorous as it was uncomfortable and dangerous. Early airplanes were noisy, and the fuselages were unpressurized. Flying also cost a small fortune, and only the rich could afford it. The 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s were an era of luxury and glamor (although the Gold Age of flying is regarded as the 1950s and 1960s).
