The Liberals just committed to Jacinta and Dan’s pet project

The Victorian opposition has conceded it will be too late to scrap the $34.5bn Suburban Rail Loop if tunnelling is underway by next year’s state election.

The is the first and only time the opposition has admitted if it wins government at next years election the project will not be stopped and will ensure completion of the rail line.

The opposition has said many times it is not in favour of the project but now concedes it will continue even under a Liberal Coalition Government.
