A leading motoring body wants the SA government to build an underground city rail loop to tackle dire public transport use and curb cars off the road.
South Australia should expect more investment into rail especially in the capital Adelaide. What has become of the proposal to run Talgo trains South Australia could have taken a significant lead in the development progress rail systems and rolling stock but has chosen not to proceed sending yet another negative message to the people of South Australia.
The South Australian Government could create a new regional service and use the connection to Mount Barker as a development service and when fine tuned extend these services to Port Augusta for example.
The idea of an underground rail service in Adelaide could be before its time however planning should be undertaken with a view to ensuring electrified rail lines can be connected with through services. There are perhaps other projects that could be undertaken to deliver better services quicker.
Ask the federal government to put some cash into the project as all of Australia will eventually benefit from the project outcomes.
