Last month, global travel data provider OAG renamed Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International (ATL) the world's busiest airport after it had lost its status to Dubai International (DXB) the month before. OAG calculates the busiest global airports based on the total airline capacity, meaning domestic and international capacity are accounted for. Based on these calculations, ATL led the top ten list of the world's busiest airports with a total capacity of 5,201,779 seats, followed by Dubai International with 4,989,008 seats and Tokyo Haneda (HND) with 4,552,302 seats.
