Over 2,800 C-130 Hercules family aircraft have been produced, with around 1,100 examples in service around the world today. The aircraft remains in production, with new aircraft mostly replacing older Hercules aircraft. The United States is home to around half of the world’s operational fleet, while Sudan’s only example was lost in a drone strike in 2024.
