The C-130J Hercules and C-27 Spartan transport aircraft were deployed to collect and transport more than 340 residents of indigenous communities affected by Category Three Tropical Cyclone Narelle in Eastern Arnhem Land over the weekend.
In a statement on Monday, Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) said Hong Kong International Airport will stay open, though there will be “significant disruption to flight operations” starting at 6pm local time on Tuesday.
The incident saw divers dispatched to try and rescue the drowned devices, though 191 eventually remained sunk, the ATSB has revealed.
