Boeing Paid Alaska Airlines $160 Million To Compensate For The 737 Max 9 Grounding

In January, an Alaska Airlines Boeing 737 MAX 9 was forced to divert following a blowout of an exit door plug. There were no fatalities on flight 1281, but several passengers filed a lawsuit against the manufacturer, and airlines said they would demand compensation from Boeing over the grounding. The backlash from the blowout has been severe, even leading to significant leadership changes at Boeing.
