Telecom Namibia (TN) the state-owned telecommunications operator, has taken what it describes as a proactive step to align with regulatory requirements by deactivating 191,598 unregistered prepaid subscriber identity module (SIM) cards.
The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) called for telecoms operators to simplify their tariff plans, bundles and promotional activities in a bid to streamline consumer experience and grow the sector.
Chinese operators were reportedly ordered by officials to phase out use of foreign chipsets by 2027, a move that would hit US chip giants Intel and Advanced Micro Devices (AMD).
