It has now been over two years since the finalBoeing 747 rolled off the production line. This airframe – a Boeing 747-8F delivered to Atlas Air – was the conclusion of over half a century of continuous production, beginning with the “City of Everett” (registration: N7470) in 1968. Since then, the 747 program has gone through several model updates, with the final series – the 747-8 – making its debut in 2011. Every 747 aircraft was built in the same Everett factory, which to this day holds the world record as the world’s largest building by volume.
