Commuters have faced major delays and been left stuck at platforms after a series of incidents marred the Metro Tunnel’s landmark end-to-end trial on Saturday.
There was always the upcoming changes to the network to light up this new route in Melbourne the questions we should be asking is what research and work has been undertaken to best implement the new MT system?
Do we run the trains all through the new metro tunnel or do we run some through the tunnel and some through the loop at various times during the day?
Has any real thought been put into the amount of platform changing that will be required at Footscray and Caulfield?
It was a trial so expect some things not to go quite right first time, this is why we have trials.
Quite right there is no need to worry about the system until the iron out the kinks with all projects.
teething problems to be investigated and rectified….only issue was people were on board and the rail blogger and buffs where all out chasing them and riding them and some got stuck mid route….
I chose to hold back until tested, teething issues rectified and certified fit for service!!!
Meantime I was doing my thing elsewhere that day! will sample after this it officially open for service fully!
