Coaches are replacing V/Line trains between Lara and Wyndham Vale

The Geelong Line has collapsed once again with maintenance and management issues. The line collapsed on the 25th June 2025 in the afternoon a busy work day.

The Geelong bound line between the Werribee turn off and Little River has been bumpy and noisy for ages. This wasn’t fixed when we endured 2 weeks of buses. Is this the section that is now causing the closure? –Passenger

V/Line will never tell us what is really going on because it is a management mess yet the previous CEO responsible for the mess has been promoted and moved to another location in the government.

What is happening to the poor people stuck on trains? We’ve been stuck at Little River for over an hour and there was talk of buses coming here and then not and then talk of the train going back to Geelong. Such poor planning and communication. –Passenger

Looking forward you must be to the terrible weather at a station with very little cover on a Victoria main line between two important and large cities.

Great, more traffic for an already packed jammed roads around Werribee. Easier to send the buses to Werribee and not Wyndham vale. –Passenger

You guys are absolutely crap. Boom gates one day, track faults the next. What tomorrow, maybe animal strikes. You had two 2 weeks track maintenance to fix this crap, and what did we get. Nothing. Time your management were moved on. More food for the media. –Passenger

Also note the Warrnambool Line is now down with coaches called. V/Line is without a shadow of a doubt a complete joke. The warrnambool services have descended into one long SH*T SHOW with the removal of the Locomtive Hauled Services and longer distance rolling stock.

This SS was reported to 3AW today and no doubt there will be follow-ups over the next few days.

  1. There are no points to be needed on that part of the line except to access the RRL meaning the road should be available and use train orders to get by why the buses V/Line are so damn lazy!

    1. Because since those bean counters in spring st and top management changed the operator’s name from Vic Rail to V/line it gave em excused to run buses replacements as long they gave service it doesn’t need to only trains!!!

I suspect they receiving kick back for each busline contacted for coach replacements!!!

By a very road and city centric government

  2. Brad, missed most this of mess, but later down at Warrnambool is tree obtrusion the track stopping VoLcitys train service from Warrnambool at the same time and the cancellation and bus replacement continue from Waurn Ponds to Warrnambool….

Why did they allow trees to foul the rail corridor is asking for trouble, what to way and work cutting the tree branches to ensure the don’t fall down on stormy weather or rub against the train?

As off Bendigo towards Eaglehawk there a big shrub or bush that always rubbing against the N set when the past by I seen and heard them rubbing the carriage I ride in!
