The new Qatari ‘Flying Palace’ has arrived in the United States to be reconfigured as the next US presidential transport aircraft and to replace the aging VC-25A ‘Air Force One’ aircraft. Boeing is currently working to deliver replacement Air Force One jets to the Air Force, based on the Boeing 747-8i. However, deliveries were not expected until 2029—well after the end of Donald Trump’s presidential term. Trump, apparently, wants a jet for this current term and went shopping.

The information is according to multiple sources familiar with the matter. This latest news opposes the widely reported narrative that the Qatari government first reached out to the President to offer the aircraft as a gift to be used as a new interim Air Force One.
