Melbourne Town Hall is considering re-creating the iconic music video of AC/DC’s ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top’ on the back of a flat bed truck through city streets. The video was produced almost 50 years ago and is regarded as one of the best rock videos of all time and launched in many ways the iconic career of AC/DC who developed their music and first albums in Melbourne,
It’s the 50th anniversary of the rock anthem next February, and Ross Stevenson thinks it’s a “brilliant idea”.
“There is one catch,” lord mayor Nick Reece said on 3AW Breakfast.

AC/DC Lane
AC/DC Lane is a laneway in Melbourne, Australia, named in honor of the iconic Australian rock band AC/DC. It was formerly known as Corporation Lane and was renamed on October 1, 2004, to commemorate the band.
The lane is a popular spot for street art, much of which pays tribute to the band.

It’s a short, narrow lane running between Exhibition Street and Russell Street, off Flinders Lane.
Would be amazing to see this done again in February 2026. 50 years in the making
Angus would be the only original member alive from that clip 50 years ago.
Phil Rudd is still alive from Melbourne living in New Zealand.
I believe he lives on a boat on the north island.
Mark evans on lead is in Melbourne and Phil Rudd from Melbourne would be available. 3 members from back then are alive. Need to convince Angus.
