Few, except the most dedicated military aviation enthusiasts, are aware of the large market that still exists today for restored warbirds, a term used to describe old military aircraft that remain on the market today for collectors. Those with the resources to purchase a World War II-era fighter jet are extremely few, and an even smaller number within this group will actually have any interest in spending the amount of money needed to not only buy such an aircraft but also maintain one.
