It was quite a big week at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD), the principal international gateway serving the nation’s capital. This facility, which has traditionally catered mostly to business travelers heading to and from the capital region, has continued to grow its network of nonstop flights to leisure destinations. The largest player at the airport, United Airlines, has been the responsible party for much of this growth in recent years.
