The national airline of Ireland, Aer Lingus, was founded in April 1936 by the Irish Government. With its primary hub at Dublin Airport, the airline operates scheduled flights to nearly 100 destinations in Asia, Europe, and North America. The airline was privatized between 2006 and 2015 to become a wholly-owned subsidiary of the International Airlines Group (IAG).
