Helrom secures another 33 million euros in funding

German semi-trailer specialist Helrom closed a green loan financing for 32,9 million euros. The money will be used to purchase an additional 120 Helrom wagons.
The funds are coming in equal parts from Paris-based bank Société Générale and German asset finance firm Deutsche Leasing Finance. The two entities already invested in Helrom in June 2023 with 34,5 million euros. “This loan will finance our Helrom trailer wagons for the next six trains”, specified Dr. Matthias Herrmann, CFO of Helrom.

Helrom’s technology

Helrom’s technology allows for the horizontal loading and transportation of non-cranable semi-trailers on rail wagons. Horizontal loading techniques for non-cranable semi-trailers mean that it is not necessary to be in a terminal or utilise a crane. Truck drivers can just drive their semi-trailer on the Helrom platform and decouple the tractor. After that, once the train is complete, the semi-trailers can start their rail journey and move back on the road for last mile deliveries.
