2027 Or 2028: United Airlines’ Boeing 737 MAX 10 Uncertainty Continues

On May 13, 2025, United Airlines made it very clear that it is not expecting to take delivery of the Boeing 737 MAX 10 until either 2027 or 2028, citing continued uncertainty regarding the aircraft’s certification process. This jet, the largest of Boeing’s 737 MAX family, has yet to receive type certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and it does not currently appear that approval is coming anytime soon.
