At the time of writing, the United States and China are locked in a tariff trade war. In a veritable blink of an eye, tit-for-tat tariffs between the two giants skyrocketed to 125% and 145%, which had the effect of pricing Boeing out of the Chinese market almost overnight. Airlines in China had already signaled they would not pay the tariffs and would postpone Boeing deliveries, which was formalized as the Chinese Government instructed Chinese airlines not to accept any more Boeing deliveries.
