The Atlanta Hawks are a franchise in the National Basketball Association (NBA), the world’s premier basketball league. The team was first founded in 1946 as the Buffalo Bisons but has existed in Atlanta, Georgia, since 1968. The Atlanta Hawks have only won one NBA Championship, winning in 1958, and currently have the second-longest drought of not winning an NBA Championship. However, the team has had recent success, winning a division title in 2021 behind the success of its star player, Trae Young.
