The Airbus A220 started out in life as the Canadian Bombardier CSeries and was developed to compete with aircraft like the Boeing 737 MAX 7. However, the strain of developing the aircraft forced Bombardier to sell the aircraft to Airbus, which renamed it the Airbus A220. The five-abreast narrowbody aircraft has proven popular with some American carriers and has attracted buyers around the world.
