Was Airbus Acquiring The A220 A Mistake?

As noted by Reuters in 2021, Airbus at the time had yet to secure low-enough prices for many of the plane’s components to push the A220 project convincingly into the black. This has presented a dilemma for Airbus as producing each new aircraft at high costs simply leads to more losses.
