Southwest Airlines has historically operated an extremely unique network. In some ways, the airline looks a lot like United, Delta, American, or any other of its mainstream competitors. The carrier funnels passengers through large hubs like Houston Hobby Airport (HOU), Dallas Love Field (DAL), and Chicago Midway Airport (MDW). As anyone who flies Southwest often knows, the airline will occasionally offer nonstop services between lower-demand destinations on the highest-demand days of the week, but on most of the other days, one will be relegated to a stopping service.
