Why Do Private Jets Fly So High Compared To Commercial Airliners?

Commercial airliners typically cruise between 33,000 and 39,000 feet, primarily to achieve greater fuel efficiency. Private jets, on the other hand, tend to fly even higher, between 39,000 and 45,000 feet, to further benefit from environmental and air traffic conditions. Private jets are significantly lighter than commercial airliners, carry fewer passengers, and are designed to climb higher at higher climb rates.
